The Vanderbilt men's basketball team defeated Central Arkansas, Drake University, and Virginia Commonwealth University en route to the Cancun Challenge basketball tournament championship.

With the wins, the Commodores move to 5-1 on the season.

After a brief respite, the men return to action on Wednesday night within the friendly confines of Memorial Gym, as they host the Flames of the University of Illinois at Chicago. [Insert inappropriate joke here].

The big game is this Saturday, right before the SEC Championship (football) game, against the Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech (who're helluva engineers) right down the street from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The Yellow Jackets enter the game with a 4-1 record, and their one loss came against Penn State by two points.

We'll see how the Commodores handle only their second "real" challenge of the young season (with the other being Illinois -- the Illini, not the Flames [insert another joke]).

First, however, the Black and Gold will need to take care of business on Wednesday.
